What this website collects, why, and for how long. This covers getsupportivo.com only — not data your own WordPress site processes when you run the Supportivo plugin.

What we collect
Through the contact form: your name, email address, subject, and message.
Through the AI chat widget (the chat bubble in the corner of the page): the messages you type, and — only if you accept the storage prompt shown the first time you visit — a randomly-generated session identifier so we can group the messages of one conversation together. We don't run analytics, ad trackers, or non-essential cookies on this site, and the chat widget doesn't collect your IP address or any device/browser fingerprint. The only way personal information (like your name or email) ends up in a stored conversation is if you choose to type it into the chat yourself.
How we use it
Submitting the contact form sends your message to our support mailbox by email so we can reply to you.
Every message you send the chat widget is processed by OpenAI's API to find relevant information from our own help content and generate a reply — this happens regardless of your storage choice, since it's how the chat produces an answer at all. If the assistant can't answer confidently, we also get an email with your question so a person can follow up. Separately, if you accepted the storage prompt, we keep a copy of the conversation on our own server as described under Retention below; if you declined, that conversation is never written to our database at all.
We don't sell, rent, or share your information with third parties for marketing.
Retention
The website doesn't store contact-form submissions in a database — each message is only ever sent as an email. That email is kept in our mailbox for as long as we need it to handle your enquiry and keep a reasonable support history, and deleted when it's no longer needed.
Chat conversations you've consented to store are kept until a site administrator manually deletes them — we don't delete them automatically on a schedule. If you declined the storage prompt, we don't retain the conversation at all beyond the time needed to generate each reply.
Cookies & local storage
We use your browser's local storage (not a tracking cookie) for one thing only: remembering whether you accepted or declined the chat-storage prompt, so we don't ask again on your next visit. We don't use local storage or cookies for analytics or advertising.
Third parties
Contact-form emails are delivered through our own server's outgoing mail — no third-party mailbox provider sees the message beyond what's needed to transmit it.
OpenAI processes chat messages on our behalf, as a data processor, to generate embeddings (for finding relevant help content) and to generate the reply itself. Per OpenAI's API data usage policy, data submitted through the API is not used to train their models by default.
Your rights
Under GDPR, you can ask us: what data we hold about you (access), to correct it (rectification), to delete it (erasure), to limit how we use it (restriction), to receive a copy in a portable format (portability), or to object to our processing. Get in touch using the details below and we'll act on it.
One honest limitation: because chat conversations aren't linked to your name, email, or any account, we generally can't search our conversation database for "your" specific chats unless you can tell us roughly when it happened and what was discussed — we simply don't hold anything else to match it against. You can also ask us to delete it and we'll do so by hand.
